Then Jesus saith to the sick of palsy, ‘’arise, and take thy bed , and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power into men ‘’ (Matthew 9:1-8).
Amidst the claimorings of he crowd, comprehension may rise thought into its higher provinces and help to grasp the magnitude of the spiritual fact that God is the only mentality, always present. That what always Jesus did.
And the sick man, obeying the voice of Christ and Christian Science, arose, free from bondage. He departed to his primitive and eternal home which has always been Soul. The multitude captured not only the divine healing power, infinitely above that of human invention. The thought seized the depth of the great spiritual fact, breaking away limited concepts of man, ruling out material impositions, to the point where it expressed such marvel. The One whose name is excellent in all the earth hath shewed his glory and his greatness, for having given all His sons and daughters such spiritual puissance – the power of perfect Mind.
There is ”One God, and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, in you all. But into every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ ” (Ephesians 4:6-7).
The multitude was filled with a reverent fear of God. That multitude perceived the instant and eternity of the curative Christ-power in movement. Mind alone, Omni-action, can cause such illumination of the reality, Truth. Love governs all.
Mrs. Eddy writes, ‘’ Infinite Mind ceates and governs all, from the mental molecule to infinity. This divine Principle of all expresses Science and art throughout His ceation, and the immortality of man and the universe ” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 507).
We learn in Science that the man of God’s creation, eternally perfect, can lose nothing real – God. ‘’When the multitude saw it, they marvelled… ‘’ God is the only power, the only Principle, the only Understanding, the only source of wisdom, intelligence and action, the only instant and infinite presence. ‘’
“The starting point of divine science is that God, the Spirit, is all-in and there is no other power or understanding – that God is Love, and therefore He is Divine Principle” (Science and Health, p. 275).
