He who « hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host » reigns from age to age. Mind transcends all dimensions.
« The earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. » (Genesis 1 :2). Earth is God’s idea. Mind is the only presence. The naturalness of Mind is to generate ideas.
Every man reflects in himself God’s mighty power to dominate, to reign over misconceptions, the counterfeits. « Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine » (Luke 15 :31).
Paul recommends this, « Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s » (I Corinth. 6 :20). God’s body, spiritual body, is made of right ideas. Therefore body is the incarnation of infinite Mind, all harmonious. Man is « the compound idea of God, including all right ideas » (Science and Health, p. 475). As God, Spirit, the only creator, the only cause of our true self, spiritual, is infinite, so the body, which is God’s, is infinite and reflected everyone.
The Gospel according to Mark records case of man infected with leprosy, the most incurable disease of that time. What was the origin of it? Sickness has a mental origin. That suffering man could not escape the association of ideas of his time.
Science explains clearly how thought is able to produce disorder and affect « the action of the organs of the human system », and how all the body’s departments can be « impelled or palsied by thought .» Immortal Truth brings harmony. Eventually the suffering man was able to escape mental and circumstantial servitude, thanks to highest, Christ-thoughts. (Mark 1: 40-42). There is always a striking similarity between that period of yore and our contemporary era. And from age to age, there is only one refuge, divine Mind, Omnipresence, Omnipotence, reigning in the heavens, and the heavens of heaven and their host.
Thoughts shape our bodies as well as our home, the Earth, in all their departments. Think of it. Thoughts express themselves outwardly in a better concept of body, of home, of community, nation, continent, the whole blue planet. Mentally we nurture these sectors of the universe. Yet, misconceptions such as panic, psychosis, fear, or worry are not good nutriment part for body or World’s design.
Spirit forms you anew when material belief is correct by spiritual understanding. Healing either in the case of a disease or of an epidemic is the result of a change in the state of mind or state of consciousness. The effect of the Science of Christ is to bring the human consciousness to a typical change to express the divine standard.
