When God manifested Itself on Horeb Mount, It was so divinely natural that Moses seized the clear and perfect language of Spirit. God is man’s consciousness and wisdom, Principle, substance, having control over all things existing. Then the fire visible, with all phenomena, is a state of being of the invisible, infinite Mind : ‘Behold, the bush was all on fire, and the bush was not consumed’ (Ex. 3:2)
Science reveals there is no realness but God, universal consciousness manifesting Itself from the unseen into the seen through each individuality. It is the only intelligence, the Principle of all that is.
We have been running out of electricity for days. That night, there remained only a fraction of a candle that could only last less than two hours. I had just moved into the area with a plethora of problems. A tooth fairy ate everything in my house at night. I did not have a clock. There, a strong thought suggested to me to count on the neighbors to wake up around four in the morning, but I firmly rejected the suggestion. God is the best support in such circumstances. He already has dominion over all things. He already has in Himself an infinitude of resources to extract myself and my neighbors from this embarrassment.
Before I lay down and slept, I turned in silence to pray to the Eternal Father as we learn in Christian Science: ‘’ When you pray, enter your room, close your door and pray to your Father, who sees what is secret, he will reward you publicly. ‘So said Jesus. The room symbolizes the sanctuary of the Spirit, whose door closes in the sinful sense, but allows the Truth, Life and Love to enter. Closed to error, it is open to Truth, and vice versa’ (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 14-15). Prayer, communion or conscious solitude with God, closes the door to the sinful sense.
Science tells us that God is the only source, the only cause, the only origin of what actually exists. There is no other active power or intelligence but God.
I do not know how in this meditation I swallowed up in sleep when the fall of a heavy object on my chest woke me up in a startle: that was the soap I lost three days ago. I looked up at the ceiling: The famous mouse was there. I got upset, but the ‘still, small voice’ brought me back to seize the reality. All the lights were on. I checked my wristwatch, and it was five minutes to four.
Love everywhere present, everlastingly omniactive manifests Itself as Almighty, supreme, perfection controlling all.
God is the only environment, the only atmosphere, the only presence; all that we are aware of around us are infinite and varied expressions of the only intelligence.
‘Science dispels mystery and explains extraordinary phenomena; but Science never removes phenomena from the domain of reason in the realm of mysticism,” writes Mary Baker Eddy (‘Science and Health,’ p. 80). I was so aware that the intentions and activities of the tooth fairy reflected the infinite Understanding, the ever-present Love.
‘God’s being is infinity, freedom, harmony, and boundless bliss. ‘Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty’’ (Science and Health, p. 481).
Eternity and infinity ,not at the mercy of the limits of human conditions, transcend time and limitation.
All of God’s creation surrounding us are universal consciousness manifesting Itself from the unseen un to the seen. Principle constitutes Its idea. Each divine idea is individual, perfect, complet. A destructive mouse is not part of the creation by divine Mind. One of the varying forms in which Mind express Itself is this little mouse swinging the soap. A clear, intelligent language that I could grasp better, clearly and perfectly. Swallowed up in the spiritual understanding of the infinite being, I realized the ever-presence of the divine Mind and His infinite capacity, how harmonious was the relation between that little divine idea, the mouse and me. The same day, all the mice moved out. Love preserves the individuality and identity of all Its ideas.
